I can hardly believe I’ve made this last batch of pottery without feeling the need to paint all over it as is usual for me. I think perhaps all the ancient pottery I have seen in various museums over the last few years has finally found a place to rest in my mind and a return to form alone seemed like the natural thing to do. Interestingly, two friends commented that this beaker looked old as if it had been dug up from the ground. I like that.

The clay is Valentine’s stoneware special fleck with a celadon glaze fired at 1250 degrees.
